The purpose of the International Sewing Machine Collectors' Society is to foster the collecting of, and research into, sewing machines.

Guidelines and Disclaimer for the ISMACS Digest

Things that will not be tolerated:

  • Flames
  • Personal attacks on other Digest members
  • Questions of the type, "What is this machine worth?"

Things that forsale listings must contain:

  • Price
  • Condition Rating (see the Condition Chart)
  • Full and complete description

Things that are encouraged:

  • Discussion of machines and collecting
  • Questions about collecting, restoration, care and love of old machines
  • Descriptive subject headers

We are happy to comment on prices that are given and give our opinions as to whether we think a given price is fair. The answer to "What is this machine worth?" is: Whatever someone is willing to pay.
